About Coach D
Founder of DR3 Fastpitch
My name is Danielle Rubin, but my clients call me Coach D
I was born & raised in Canton, Georgia. My parents are Karl & Susan Rubin and I have one younger sister, Nicole. I started my softball career at 8 years old playing for the local rec ball association. I didn’t start taking pitching lessons until I was 9 then eventually moved to travel ball my 2nd year of 12u. My softball career #LEVELEDUP in 8th grade, when I became a part of a nationally ranked travel ball organization, Ga Impact (Bass); coming in 3rd place at PGF Nationals. On March 6th of my sophomore year, I verbally committed to play D1 Softball at Kennesaw State University #HootyHoo. I finished my high school softball career playing for the Atlanta Vipers Organization. I attended Kennesaw State University my freshman season then finished my playing career at Georgia College and State University. I have given lessons & worked at clinics/camps throughout my college career then later I started my own brand, formerly known as DR3 Pitching, in May 2019. Teaching is in my blood. In May 2020, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Special Education degree, certified in PreK-12th grade. I then obtained my Master's in Special Education in July of 2021.
Even though my softball journey did not turn out as I originally planned, I am so grateful for where it has led me! Coaching is my passion. I feel it’s my life calling and it’s pure joy for me to be making a difference in these young players' journey both on and off the field.
I am currently a pitching instructor, mental training coach, and mentor to incredibly talented girls, ranging in ages from 5-51 in all 50 states and 4 countries! I’ve worked with over 1,000 pitchers worldwide. I give in-person lessons at Prime Athletic Center in Canton, Georgia. I also coach part-time for the 18u Georgia Thunderbolts – Carver.
I have had so many good times playing the sport I love. I have also faced a lot of adversity, and pain, and have shed a few tears but at the end of the day, it was the “failures” that I have come to appreciate more and more since I’ve taken on a different role as a coach. I never thought I’d admit it, but I know I would not be the instructor I am, have the drive that I have, and the passion I have, without going through some hardships and challenges. What I thought was a mess is actually my message to each player I have the privilege to teach: Ladies, never give up on your passion! Just know that God closes one door but always opens another door if we stay in His will.
